MSC CRUISES WINS FOUR PORTHOLE CRUISE AND TRAVEL 2023 READER’S CHOICE AWARDS

11/15/2023

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – November 15, 2023 – MSC Cruises has won four industry accolades from Porthole Cruise and Travel, a leading international magazine covering cruising, destinations and onboard experiences. The magazine honored MSC Cruises in the 2023 Reader’s Choice Awards for its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, on-board entertainment and outstanding shore excursions.

In the Eco-Friendly Cruise Line category, MSC Cruises was named “Best Eco-Friendly Cruise Line” for its continued commitment to sustainability. This summer, MSC Cruises operated the industry’s first net zero greenhouse gas emissions voyage with its newest LNG-powered vessel, MSC Euribia. The recognition also speaks to the brand’s long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, along with its commitment to noise reduction technology, LNG-powered ship technology and more.

MSC Cruises was also awarded “Best Cruise Ship Entertainment” for the line’s incredible on-board productions and spaces. The 23-ship fleet features an array of world-class Broadway-style entertainment, family-friendly waterparks, ziplines, swimming pools, and age-specific Kids Clubs, providing dedicated areas for babies, toddlers, children and teenagers. Guests can enjoy a Formula Racer simulator on board MSC Meraviglia or take a ride on ROBOTRON, the robotic arm swinging high above the ocean on MSC Seascape.

In the Private Island category, MSC Cruises’ Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve was named the “Best Cruise Line Private Island” by readers. Founded on a strong commitment to the conservation of marine life, Ocean Cay  is a stunning island oasis in The Bahamas surrounded by a 64-square-mile stretch of protected waters. Ocean Cay was recently named a Mission Blue ‘Hope Spot’ thanks to the MSC Foundation’s extensive work toward restoring the destination and mitigating the impacts of climate change on the surrounding ecosystem.

Additionally, MSC Cruises was awarded “Best Shore Excursions” by the magazine for the brand’s extensive list of adventures available for guests to book. Offering a range of unique experiences from shipwreck snorkeling getaways to culinary tours and low environmental impact excursions known as Protectours, readers have named MSC Cruises a premiere cruise line for off-ship entertainment.

A complete list of this year’s winners can be found in Porthole Cruise and Travel’s November/December 2023 issue.
