MSC CRUISES RECOGNIZED WITH SIX GOLD, ONE SILVER TRAVEL WEEKLY MAGELLAN AWARDS

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – October 10, 2025 MSC Cruises has received prestigious recognition for its overall cruise product and marketing campaigns by Travel Weekly in the publication’s annual Magellan Awards. MSC Cruises received six Gold recognitions and one Silver, yielding a milestone seven total awards across multiple categories including Cruise Overall, Cruise Marketing and Cruise Elements.

Within the Cruise Overall and Cruise Elements categories, MSC World America earned four Gold Awards, further underscoring its position as one of the most innovative new ships at sea. The ship received top honors in the Family, Large Cruise Ship, and Contemporary Ship categories, as well as in Entertainment for Dirty Dancing in Concert.” Featuring seven distinct districts, a range of family-friendly experiences and all-new onboard entertainment, MSC World America redefines the modern cruise experience through immersive design and next-generation offerings tailored to every type of traveler.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and the MSC Foundation Marine Conservation Center received Gold for Private Island, marking a milestone in the company’s long-term sustainability mission. The Center advances coral restoration, education and scientific collaboration through initiatives such as the Super Coral Reefs Program and partnerships with leading universities and marine institutes. Guests can visit the island’s Discovery Pavilion, Aquaria and Bio Lab to learn about reef restoration and ocean health firsthand.

In the Cruise Marketing category, MSC Cruises earned Gold for its “Let’s Holiday” Super Bowl commercial starring Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom. The 60-second spot introduced millions of viewers to MSC Cruises’ European-inspired style and the debut of MSC World America, blending humor, luxury and cinematic storytelling. The ad marked the beginning of a new chapter for the brand in North America, with Barrymore serving as the ship’s Godmother at its naming ceremony in Miami.

Additionally, the launch of MSC World America earned a Silver Award in the Cruise Marketing - Campaign-Communication/PR Plan category. The comprehensive strategy leading up to the ship’s debut included exclusive shipyard tours, influencer activations, media partnerships and the high-profile launch event broadcast live on The TODAY Show, resulting in more than 21 billion global impressions.

The Magellan Awards honor outstanding design, marketing and services in a broad range of industry segments including Hospitality, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Online Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Agents and Agencies, Tour Operators and Ground Transportation.
