MSC CRUISES PICK OF THE WEEK - Bruges

14/10/2022

London, UK – Friday 14 October: MSC Cruises is announcing a new must-see destination each week. Customers booking specific cruises calling at the ‘Pick of the Week’ destination will benefit from exclusive incentives including £100 onboard credit.

This week, MSC Cruises is celebrating Bruges, the beautiful and historical capital of West Flanders. From Monday 17 October until Sunday 23 October, customers booking on the selected cruises in a balcony cabin and above (including MSC Yacht Club) will receive a credit of £100 to be spent on board during their trip.

From a restorative massage at the MSC Aurea Spa to bubbly in the Champagne Bar, MSC Virtuosa guests can choose from an array of treats to cap off their holiday in style.

Here are our top five hidden gems for Bruges:

  • Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde - For a peaceful haven suspended in time, visit a 14 century collection of white houses used to house the Beguines: pious women who weren’t interested in marriage or taking the vows of Nuns. The beautiful garden creates an oasis all year round.
  • Minnewater Bridge - Those travelling with their significant other should take a stroll across the Lake of Love. Legend has it that walking across this bridge will lead to eternal love or at the very least, you will fall in love with the beautiful surrounding views.
  • Beers Yesterday’s World - Experience two of Bruges’ specialities – beers and antiques – in a charming bar set inside an antiques shop.
  • Concertgebouw - Take a tour of the concert hall for not only some impressive architecture and art but for arguably the best views of the city.
  • Chocostory - While there are over a dozen museums, satisfy a craving for both culture and chocolate with a visit to this fun collection of exhibits that takes visitors through the history of chocolate. Children of all ages will enjoy the attraction especially the very generous amount of samples to enjoy.

For an onboard ‘taste’ of Bruges, guests can visit Masters of the Sea – one of the 21 bars and lounges on board – to hunt down their tipple of choice with over 40 beers to try. Guests inspired by Bruges’s artisanal chocolate or simply those looking to satisfy a sweet tooth can visit Chocolat & Café and Crêpes & Gelato – a chocolate lover’s dream with mouth-watering confections created by award-winning pastry chef and chocolatier, Jean-Philippe Maury. The impressive array of artistic creations is a feast for the eyes and mouth.

Cruises included in this offer feature a seven-day cruise from 14th April 2023, leaving from Southampton and stopping at Hamburg, Zeebrugge (for Bruges), Cherbourg and Le Havre before returning to the UK via Southampton. Prices start from £879 for a balcony cabin and £2.039 for a yacht club cabin.
